1.    Welcome!
2.    Spirit Week*!**!**!**!**!*

  • Monday: Multiplicity Day
  • Tuesday: No School
  • Wednesday: Hat day
  • Thursday: Wacky Tacky Day
  • Friday: School spirit day

3.  Dance*!**!*

  • The next dance is Friday, December 12, 2008 *!**!*
  • Winter wonderland theme*!**!*
  • Need parent volunteers *!**!*
    • To help sell tickets the week of the dance and to chaperone the dance.
    • If you think your parents can help, please fill out the form with your information and I will give them a call.
    • We need at least five parent chaperones the day of the dance and at least one to sell tickets every day or we can’t have a dance.
    • Right now we have zero
  • Need donations:
    • Artificial trees (not Christmas trees) )
    • White holiday lights
    • Sheer white fabric
    • White, blue, and silver balloons
    • Spray glitter
    • Curling ribbon or crepe paper streamers

4.    Canned Food Drive (see canned food drive information sheet)
The 2008 Canned Food Drive will begin on Monday, November 17, and continue until Friday, December 5. Members of the WMS Student Council Community Service Committee will work with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina to distribute all food items collected. Food will go directly to help needy families in our area.

  1. Each homeroom will be given a cardboard box to collect cans and other non-perishable food items as they come in:
  2. NO HOME-PACKAGED ITEMS of any kind will be accepted. Only commercially canned or boxed food that will not spoil may be donated.
  3. NO PET FOOD or any other item unfit for human consumption may be donated.
  4. NO EXPIRED FOOD ITEM with a date that already passed may be donated.
  5. Ramen noodle packages, extremely small cans/boxes, or similar items will count as one “can” for every TEN items donated.
  6. We reserve the right to reject any item for donation.

2.  Each Student Council homeroom representative is responsible to:

  • Motivate the students of their homeroom to bring in as many food items as possible to help needy families in our community.
  • To keep an accurate count of how many cans and other food items have been placed into their homeroom collection box.
  • To bring this box directly to the Student Services conference room with a “can count” attached whenever it fills up, and on all designated “collection days” (see below).

Spirit Week

November 10-14th is Wakefield Middle School’s Spirit Week!  Dress up each day to show your school spirit!  The homeroom class with the most participation will win a breakfast snack compliments of the Student Council.
